I have been looking for a way to communicate to Lily some things that might be important while we are in China. I found these cards on the internet that are used here for a child who can not communicate with voice or sign language. They are called PEC cards or Picture Exchange Communications Cards. communicating. I found free downloads by googling them. I chose one's that show some basic hygiene, such as brushing teeth, washing the face, and how to go to the bathroom on a western toilet. I also found several safety ones and emotion ones. I know we will have a guide that will help us communicate, but she will not be able to be with us all of the time. I am sure she will learn a lot, just by watching Emma and Meilynn, but I feel more comfortable knowing that I can ask her if she is sick or hurt etc. We are hoping we will hear some news this week on if our article 5 is signed.
Today we went shopping for Lily's car seat/ booster seat. We went to Babies R Us and tried every seat and not one would fit between Emma and Meilynn's Britax car seats. It is not an option to get a new car at this time. When we got home I went on- line in search of a narrow car seat. I found the Radian car seat which is not only one of the safest, but one of the narrowest, and you can use it to 80 pounds and you can use the five point harness up to 80 pounds. It is the only car seat/ booster that we have found that does this. Oh, and it looks more like a "booster" even though it is rated for 5 pounds to 80 pounds. So it looks like we will be buying three new car seats which is way cheaper than a new car!

Great tip on the communication cards!
We're still on the fence about our car seat/new car issues.
