Mommy gets away!

*******Little note on the coats: We do live in Southern California where it is very warm, but in the winter there are times when it can get to freezing at night. Also, the coats are actually a very light coat that would probably keep you as warm as a sweater. I really bought them to go over there dresses on Sundays. I will still need to get warmer everyday type coats. And I bought them at Target so they were really not that expensive.********** SundayI went on my first trip away from the girls. We belong to an organization called Young Presidents Organization and my forum had our retreat. My forum sisters were kind enough to make our trip with-in driving distance so that if I needed to I could go home. I was gone two nights and Daddy was in charge! He did an awesome job! I am so lucky to have a husband that I can leave my girls with and know that they will be taken care of as well as I do. They did a lot of fun things like go to the grocery store, the car wash, the park, etc. But Mike is not a blogger so I don't have any pictures. But I do have some pictures that were taken in the few days before I left. It was a very relaxing trip and I even had time for a facial! Meilynn coming down the stairs by herself! Taking a little rest. We got the very important citizenship paper and a letter from the President! But Mommy had to take the picture down because it showed all of our private information.
Emma looking guilty Throwing stickers in the toilet! I love this picture. Mike left his shoes by the step and both girls lined their shoes up with his sometime when I didn't see. Trying on new coats that Mommy bought at Target. They are a 24 month and way too big! Getting a picture with both of them looking is almost impossible!
Meilynn on her way to our local toy store where they have crafts, story, and singing. Most of the kids go to the train table to play before the class, but mine like playing with the multiplication math game. Maybe they will be like their big sister Meghan and be Math majors! Making peacocks Daddy was the helper that day! Grandpa can we have this for Christmas?
Meilynn and Emma with their Aunt Julie who lets them play with her cell phone Meilynn, Aunt Julie, and Emma Mommy took back our coats and got 12 month size. It is a better fit! Meilynn likes her new coat!

Why it takes so long to do the breakfast dishes!

The angelic faces!
This morning as I attempted to do the morning dishes, and there were really not that many, I started thinking about how long it takes me to get that small amount of dishes done. And then it started. The reason it takes so long to do the breakfast dishes.
It all starts with getting the girls out of their highchairs. I get Emma out of her highchair only to discover that she has poured her water all over the top so when I take it off water splatters all over the wood floor. So I finish cleaning her up and begin cleaning the floor, but then Meilynn is screaming to get out of her highchair. So I let her out and stack up the trays by the sink. I get the floor clean and then I head into the kitchen. But here comes Emma who has taken her diaper off along with her pajamas. So I take her over and put a clean one on. So of course Meilynn decides that she also wants hers off. But she wants to sit on the potty. So now of course Emma wants to sit on the potty so off comes the diaper I have just put on. So the girls are now sitting happily on their potties, but I know better than to walk off. From experience I know that if I walk off and Meilynn goes then Emma will cheer for her and try to wipe Meilynn and then dump her potty and will probably miss. So I wait as they read their magazines (learned this from Mom). Meilynn is successful, as usual, and Emma cheers for her, but checks her potty, and says "No". She still has no clue how to make it come out, but she likes to try. So now I clean everyone's bottoms and re-diaper. I head off to the kitchen to begin to tackle the dishes. I get the water in the sink and have to break up a fight over a book. We have a milion books but there is a fight over one. I go back into the kitchen when Emma comes in and I smell the smell that lets me know that it is time for another diaper change! So off for that change. I get back into the kitchen and get a few dishes done when Meilynn comes in with the same smell. So back for another diaper change! Back into the kitchen and a few more dishes done and Emma comes in and wants her shoes on. I don't understand this need to have our shoes on and off all day. She can put them on if they are a certain kind but the ones she found are not easy. I stop to put them on and of course now Meilynn wants shoes on too. But there are no more shoes downstairs. So I run up to get her shoes. I come downstairs and Meilynn is ripping a book, so I tell her no we don't do that to books and go to repair it before it is beyond repair. Now Emma has gone outside and climbed into her wagon, but it is wet because we had our first cool, wet night. I leave the back door open so they can play outside on the patio. I dry Emma off and take off her wet shoes and socks. But she still wants to wear shoes so I am back upstairs getting another pair. Then I dry out the wagon so they can play in it. Back into the kitchen to try to finish the dishes. I know that other things happened involving hair but I won't go into all of that because now I am giving them both a time out for fighting. Ok, that problem solved. I get the dishes done finally and we go up for baths. I just bought a miracle eczema cream for Emma and I get it out along with the diapers and other cream we use. Both girls are with me in the bathroom as I run their bath water, at least there were two bodies when I started running the water. I turn around and Emma is missing. In just a matter of seconds she has gone into her room, opened the brand new, expensive eczema cream and has spilled half of it! I thought you might enjoy a little glimpse into my morning!

Thing 1, Thing 2

This is what Mommy decided we are going to be for Halloween. Thing 1 and Thing 2 are the two characters in, The Cat In The Hat, that the Cat brings in, in the big red box. The Cat says "These Things are good Things." And he gave them a pat. "They are tame. Oh, so tame! The have come here to play. They will give you some fun On this wet, wet, wet day." Thing 1 and Thing 2 go on to fly kites in the house, knock pictures of the wall, vases on the floor. "Then those Things ran With big bumps jumps and kicks And with hops and big thumps And all kinds of bad tricks. And I said, "I do not like the way that they play! If Mother could see this, Oh, what would she say!" We don't get why Mommy would think these would be good costumes for us. Do you?

Sand Show and Daddy Fun!

We went to the Sand Show on Friday night with Mommy, Daddy, Aunt Debbie and her friend Tom. A Sand Show is a big fair with things that you can ride on in the sand. Daddy rides a motorcycle in the sand and Mommy rode an ATV, but now that she has us she needs something that will hold the whole family. So Daddy bought us a Rhino. It is kind of like a golf cart or a little truck. We went to the Sand show to get ideas on how we want to paint it. Here we are watching a video in a tent while Daddy talked to the man about seats.
They had this little area set up for the bored kids! Daddy, when do you think I can get my own ATV? I like this pink one! This is what a Rhino looks like. Here is another one. Of course Mommy kept taking pictures of the pink ones! Meilynn had her first little flu bug. She thew up twice so we didn't go to church. Daddy made me a quesadilla and decided to take me in the backyard to eat it so Meilynn wouldn't want one. Mommy thought it would not be a good idea to have cheese after just thowing up. But Meilynn found us. And she ate it and wasn't sick anymore that day!Daddy likes spending time with us! And we like being with him.
Here we are when I was acutally sharing a book with Meilynn and not hitting her! Here Daddy is reading to us! I was reading my own book and Meilynn was reading one with Daddy! But then I liked their book better. They were talking about a cow so I did my best cow impression and Meilynn did her best Moooo!

Trouble times Two!

There has been some really interesting conversation on my Yahoo Group, Virtual Twins from China. Someone wrote in about how hard it was to take care of two and how they tend to get into twice as much trouble as one. And then someone else wrote back basically saying that you need to have better control of your kids. Well having raised two girls to adulthood and now two that are the same age I can tell you there is a big difference. I have to have my eyes on them at all times and even when trying to do that they still manage to get by me. Here is just one little example. I was in the kitchen making breakfast and they were not but 3 yards from me only they were on the other side of the bar so I could not see them. This happened in only a matter of seconds.{Notice that it is Meilynn who is in the purse first! } Hey Emma lets get into Mommyy's purse! Ok, there might be some fun stuff in here. I will just run over here for a minute so you are the one who will get caught! Score!!!! We can pay with this!
Emma seems to get in to more things but I am finding out that maybe Meilynn is the ringleader sometimes.
Oh and then there was this moment I caught of them sweeping Daddy's car! WE have decided that the girls are not going to learn table manners if they are not at the table with us. So I cleared off the table and am trying to not eat at the bar which was always so convenient. We hope to model good habits so they will imitate them instead of throwing their finished plates on the ground! Just having some sister fun after baths!
A big kiss for my sister!
Here we are still trying to perfect the "two" Meilynn is getting it! There are actually moments of sharing! We love hairbands
Our first craft day at the Toy Store near us. We made mommy kangaroos and their baby joeys. Afterwards we went to a fun pizza place with games with my Mom's best friend, Julie and her daughter Samantha. They taught us how to play skee ball WE had so much fun!
It was hard to get the ball up the ramp. We could play on one quarter all day!
I don't think we obeyed the rules!
