Mae Mae's Bridal Shower (Meghan)

My baby is getting Married and we will finally have a son. Meghan was our baby for over 20 years, until we adopted Emma. She will be getting married in August. We are very proud of her and our new son-in-law. In May our future son-in-law became very sick and required open heart surgery. After the surgery it was determined that it was all caused by Valley Fever. This is a fungus from dust. He moved to Phoenix in September for school and caught it probably while jogging. Phoenix has one of the highest concentrations of Valley Fever. Most people are not affected so seriously but he was. I am happy to say that he has almost made a full recovery and they are anxious to get started on their lives together. It was amazing to see them work through this together and to see the strength of their love for each other and God pull them through this tough time. Here are the pictures of her Bridal Shower in June.Meghan and one of her good friends from High School, Kristen. This was one of the best games that we played. We put every baking ingredient out on the counter and told Meghan that she had to make her own cake for the party from scratch. (No recipe) We even tried to trick her by putting out baking ingredients that are used for somethings but not usually for cakes. We all laughed as she tried to do this and I must admit that she did a better job than most people would do. In fact her cake was edible and actually looked and tasted like cake. We did all taste it when it was done. Her little sisters get into the action by helping crack the eggs. Meghan (mae, mae) as the girls call her putting her cake into the pan. Something for her honeymoon! Grandma and Meghan's future mother-in-law. The cake that we ordered. Meghan and Emma The cake maker! Meilynn and Meghan Checking to see if it tastes like cake Kami, Meghan, Kristen, Jen, and Courtney. Aren't they beautiful girls? Something else for the honeymoon! A special plate from her Aunt Stephany Bride and Maid of Honor. A mother could not be prouder!
