June 5th is "Forever in our arms Day" for Emma Sophia Mingjing. This is the first picture I ever saw of her. It was love at first sight.
She had the biggest eyes.
This was the updated picture we got just before we went to China. I wanted to leave the minute I saw her face. I remember studying these pictures over and over trying to get a clue to what she was like and how she had lived.
I knew her the minute she was brought in with the Nanny. She was very sick and miserable. I could not wait for them to call our name. I wanted to go pick her up and hold her.
Finally in Daddy's arms.
Finally in Mommy's arms.
Forever in our Arms (if you look closely, Emma looks like she is giving us the finger)
She was a very sick little girl in China.
But, look at you today!
You love life!
You are so beautiful inside and outside. You love God, your family, your teacher Mrs. Schimidt and you have a very special bond with your Mommy. You love to snuggle as close as you can and you still love to curly your fingers and toes in my hair. You have traveled to Italy twice, China twice, and all over the United States. You love swimming, gymnastics, ballet, and swinging. You love to color and play dress up. You love to change your clothes many times a day! We love you so much and cannot even begin to imagine our lives without you. God had chosen us to be together before you were ever even born. We love you Emma. Like your Chinese name, Ming Jing, you are our bright and gentle little star.

I just love seeing referral pictures and comparing them to "now" pictures. Emma has truly blossomed!
What a beautiful family! God bless you all! :)
wow, I remember Emma's baby pictures! Your blog was one of the first ones I followed when we were starting our first adoption.
Your family is beautiful!
