Happy Fourth of July! I am late again! We spent fourth of July at the beach. The girls love decorating their bikes for a little mini parade that the community puts on. We had my sister and her boyfriend down for the weekend.
It was Lily's first fourth of July and she had no problem getting in the spirit of things.
Emma, Meilynn, and Lily
Sharing a chair and having a snack
Fancy bikes and happy girls
The little parade getting ready to go around the block
The girls ready to go. Emma was sad because just before the parade started Lily ran into her bike and the balloon flew off.
Lily enjoying the parade
A girl in the neighborhood was painting faces and legs. Here Meilynn is getting her leg painted while her sisters look on
Meilynn getting a cake painted on her leg
The finished product
Emma getting a Hello Kitty painted on hers.
I think they look pretty good!
They liked them!

Vicki,
Regarding Lily asking you why someone else is first, etc. etc., I have that problem with April. She is now 11 and was adopted when she was 10 months old. I have a total of five kids, but the 14-year-old brother she seems really jealous of. I almost feel like I can't give him any attention when she is around because she gets all butt hurt. I'm thinking maybe its because she knows she is adopted and he isn't, but I don't really know. It does bother me because I constantly remind her I love ALL my kids the same. She has been like this for quite a while too and really has no reason to be jealous or insecure.
It makes you wonder if its a personality thing or a true insecurity.
Enjoy your blog! Take care!

Congratulations on the addition of Lily to your family. This past year I bought my first home and didn't get much computer time so I fell way behind on reading your blog. I didn't realize you lived so near. I'm in CA, too, in the SF Bay Area, but my sister lives in Yucaipa.
This month marks 40 months of my dossier being logged in at CCAA and I don't know how much longer I'll be waiting, but I know it will be right whenever the time comes. Meanwhile, thank you for sharing your family through your blog and giving me so much to look forward to with my future daughter!
