This is what Mommy decided we are going to be for Halloween. Thing 1 and Thing 2 are the two characters in, The Cat In The Hat, that the Cat brings in, in the big red box.
The Cat says "These Things are good Things."
And he gave them a pat. "They are tame. Oh, so tame!
The have come here to play.
They will give you some fun On this wet, wet, wet day."
Thing 1 and Thing 2 go on to fly kites in the house, knock pictures of the wall, vases on the floor.
"Then those Things ran
With big bumps jumps and kicks
And with hops and big thumps
And all kinds of bad tricks.
And I said, "I do not like the way that they play!
If Mother could see this,
Oh, what would she say!"
We don't get why Mommy would think these would be good costumes for us. Do you?

Thing 1, Thing 2
