DAY 2 of Real Food

We made it through Day 2!

We had a few challenges today.  Tuesday is my busy, busy day.  I take the girls to school at 7:45.  Jilliana has speech at 8:45.  She then has swimming lessons at 1:00.  I pick two of the girls up at 2:00.  Then I pick Lily up at 3:00.  Emma has gymnastics at 3:30-4:45 and Jilliana and Meilynn have ballet from 5:30-6:30.  Mike was out of town all day so he had to come up with what to do about eating.

The girls had oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, orange juice, bananas and homemade whole wheat toast for breakfast.  I packed their lunches using the "real" peanut butter and the "real" jelly.  The peanut butter only contains peanuts and the jelly is real fruit spread.  Emma does not like peanut butter so she had leftover chicken on her sandwich.  Then I packed them some homemade granola, strawberries, carrots, water, hummus and ak-mok crackers.  They ate everything!

Jilliana and I were home for lunch so we had pita bread with leftover chicken in spaghetti sauce with a little cheese on top.  I put it in the broiler and we loved them.  We had leftover mashed potatoes and green beans.

I made zucchini muffins and little loaves for the girls after school snack.

For dinner we had homemade tortillas that I had made on the weekend and froze with chicken, pinto beans, brown rice, cheese, salsa, and cilantro on top.  We had already tried these last week and I knew the girls loved them so I made them.  Emma had to have hers to go since she gets back from gymnastics just as it is time to go to ballet.

I am so proud of my little family!

YOu should be! Keep up the good work. You can do this. Who knows? Maybe you'll inspire others to try it, too. :)
