Jilliana's First Swimming Lessons

When we first came back from China I knew that Jilliana would need swimming lessons, especially because we have a pool.  After a few months home I took her to the Mommy and Me class just to get used to the idea of being in the water.  She was not a fan of getting her face wet so I knew we would need to take it slow.  And even though she was old enough to go in the classes where you do not need your Mommy, I knew that was the best place for her.  She was not ready to trust someone else when she was just learning to trust us.

So now that she is fully bonded with us and here in California we are already seeing warm weather it is time to approach the idea of taking swimming lessons where she has to trust a teacher.

I was a little nervous about how she would do since she still does not like getting her face wet, but It was time.

She was very excited about going to her own activity.

 Before getting in the pool

Walking her to her teacher, and then letting her go.
 Getting her feet wet
 So far so good!
Learning to let go of the teacher
 I think she likes it!
Looking at Mommy, a little unsure here.
Letting go and learning to reach

 Underwater and no tears!
Almost done, a little cold or a little nerves now.

Back in Mommy's arms!

I know I have said this before, but Jilliana never ceases to amaze us!  We are the luckiest parents in the World to have been given this treasure!  I cannot begin to describe her amazing personality and how smart she is!

I know I am way, way, way, behind in posting.  Again, I will try to catch up.  I write blog posts in my mind all of the time, but getting them down has been difficult.
